About Me
I'm Romit, a second-year Information Technology student at VIT Vellore with a strong interest in building scalable, reliable software. I enjoy solving backend challenges—whether it's designing RESTful APIs, optimizing database schemas, or implementing real-time communication with WebSockets. For me, the most rewarding part of software engineering is creating systems that are efficient, maintainable, and seamless for users.
During my internship at Purpuligo Technologies, I developed and delivered a production-grade CRM platform, taking ownership of the entire development lifecycle from backend architecture and database design to frontend integration and deployment. Working on a real-world product taught me how to write production-ready code, make sound engineering trade-offs, and deliver features where performance, reliability, and user experience matter.
I'm passionate about continuously improving as an engineer. I regularly solve algorithmic problems on LeetCode (150+ and counting), explore distributed and autonomous systems, and enjoy learning about modern software architecture. I believe great engineering comes from combining curiosity with consistent practice and a willingness to keep learning.
Outside of coding, I enjoy playing cricket and listening to music. Whether it's an evening match with friends or a playlist during a coding session, these hobbies help me stay balanced and bring fresh energy to problem-solving.

Online Auction Platform
tap for linksBuilt an end-to-end auction system where users can list items and compete in live bidding wars. The platform streams bid updates to all connected clients in real time via WebSockets — no page refreshes, no polling. On the backend, I designed secure RESTful APIs handling user authentication, bid placement logic, and transaction integrity, all backed by MongoDB for flexible document storage.

Purpuligo Technologies Private Limited- Owned the full delivery of a CRM platform from scratch — architecting the backend, designing the database layer, and wiring the frontend, all within a fast-paced startup environment.
- Engineered a suite of RESTful APIs in Node.js and Express.js covering auth flows, customer lifecycle management, task delegation, activity logs, and automated workflow triggers.

- Co-invented a patented system that enables autonomous machines to adapt their behavior in real time based on environmental conditions — think rough terrain, low visibility, and sensor noise.
- Designed the conceptual framework for environmental degradation scoring and ML inference confidence analysis, allowing the system to decide when its own predictions are unreliable.
- Explored multi-modal sensing strategies combining computer vision, LiDAR point clouds, and sensor fusion to build a robust perception pipeline for unpredictable outdoor scenarios.
